I have always found Winter really difficult - particularly those three long months after Christmas. I used to suffer with bouts of depression quite regularly and whilst I'm reasonably healthy mentally these days, I take extra care to banish the blues in January, February and March.
When I feel the need to ward off a low mood I can often be found building a cosy little nest for myself in the living room, with comfy cushions, soft blankets and a fire. I make myself something a bit special to drink, play an audiobook or an episode of Gilmore Girls and pick up my stitching. The repetitive movements of the stitches soothe my soul, the designs I stitch are cheering and I feel a sense of pride at the finished article.
I decided that I would open the house for embroidery classes in the new year so that I can share my passion for needlework and have more cosy days to look forward to. I love to have a good chat when I am sewing, particularly over tea and cake, so it would be lovely if you could make it.
The four dates for Winter have now been published over in the shop. If you fancy joining in but would like to know more then please just drop me an email at [email protected] - I'd be happy to answer any questions or abate any worries! I live in South Northamptonshire, just ten minutes from Junction 15 on the M1 but if you prefer to travel by train we can collect you from either Wellingborough or Northampton stations.
If you really do prefer to stay at home for the Winter but would like to join a class then don't worry; there will be more dates published for Spring and Summer including some quite special venues. (I am also about to launch a virtual stitch club and you can join in from the comfort of your own armchair so there is definitely something for everyone!)
Hope to see you soon,
love
